Manel is a PhD student at the University of Lleida. He has an undergraduate degree on Geography from the University of Lleida and a master degree on Soil and Water Management from the University of Lleida with the participation of the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Public University of Pamplona. His master dissertation analysed the historic morph-sedimentary changes in a Piedmont river of southern Pyrenees (Upper Cinca) from data obtained through Automatic Digital Photogrammetry or Structure From Motion (SFM). During that period he was supporting and working with SCT Cartography and Geographic Information Systems of Geography Department of University of Lleida performing tasks of developing mapping and analysis of the territory. He has collaborated in teaching activities in the subject of Topography, GIS and Remote Sensing for the degrees of Forest Engineering and Agricultural Engineering of University of Lleida during the courses 2013-2014 and 2014-2015. He has gained field experience in the field of fluvial geomorphology collaborating in multiple research projects directed on the Fluvial Dynamics Research Group, RIUS (SCARCE-CONSOLIDER and MorphSed). He has been working as a Hydrometric Technician in MorphSed (

Manel is currently a PhD student at the University of Lleida. He obtained a grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports (FPU grant 14/01687). His PhD is focused on the analysis of temporal changes on sediment connectivity at multiple spatial scales and its implications for the supply of sediments in piedmont systems. The research is developed at the Fluvial Dynamics Research Group (Department of Environment and Soil Sciences, University of Lleida) in the background of the research project MorphSed (CGL2012-36394;
